Areas of Practice

At Fremstad Law our practice areas are those legal matters in which we have had real experience both in and out of the courtroom and with businesses of every size. We also work to ensure that business owners get the full range of services that they might need personally. While we aim to be your OGC (Outside General Counsel), even the best General Counsel can’t do it all. If we think you need additional resources, we will help give you the best referrals and advice even when it is about hiring another attorney, accountant, or other professional.

Business/Corporate: In addition to our OGC program, Fremstad law offers a variety of traditional business and corporate legal services including business formation and assistance with resolving business disputes. We work with our clients to tailor businesses agreements that plan for growth while controlling possible problem areas. Fremstad law can act as the registered agent for your business and assist with such things as the preparation of annual reports and corporate minutes. We also work with experienced third parties such as accountants, bankers, and business executives who assist us in ensuring that we are making not only the right legal decisions for your business, but also the best business decisions.

Employment: From pre-hiring to termination, Fremstad law offers a variety of services including employee handbook reviews and preparation of employment and separation agreements. Frequent issues for our clients are independent contractor versus employee and exempt versus non exempt for purposes of overtime compensation.

Collections: We can help not only with legal action to collect what is owed to you, but can also assist in reviewing your receivables process. At Fremstad Law, we will work with your sales, accounting, and billing personnel and when appropriate third party accountants and collection agencies to review processes and documentation to ensure that risks are properly assessed and that appropriate tools are in place.

Wealth Management, Estate Planning, and Probate: Too often we see our clients focused on the daily tasks at hand, as opposed to planning for the future. We work with our clients to ensure that they have developed a plan for their business interests, their families, and their estates.

Litigation: Litigation should always be the last option, but it can be necessary. We work quickly to analyze the matter and develop a litigation plan. If settlement is an option, we work to settle the case up front and minimize legal fees.
