Amber Cleveland

Amber Cleveland is an attorney with Fremstad Law, where she focuses her practice primarily on family law and devotes a portion of her practice to assisting parents and students in a variety of education-related matters. She is known for her practical problem-solving skills and her commitment to helping clients navigate complex personal and legal challenges to achieve meaningful, lasting results.

As a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, Amber earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, cum laude, from Minnesota State University Moorhead, with an emphasis in Civil Litigation and minors in Communication Studies and Philosophy.  Before attending law school, she worked for several years as a paralegal at a local law firm, where she assisted in medical malpractice defense and gained a deep understanding of complex civil litigation.

Amber earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of North Dakota School of Law. During law school, she was an active member of the North Dakota Law Review, Moot Court, and the Innocence Project, and participated in numerous student organizations. She authored a case comment which was published in the North Dakota Law Review (92 N.D. L. Rev. 1 (2017)) and received the highest grade in Civil Procedure. Amber also served as a teaching assistant in Legal Research, and Writing, mentoring first-year law students. Additionally, she worked as a law clerk for in East Grand Forks, Minnesota, for two years, assisting with numerous family law matters, and completed a summer internship in the Fargo area focused on complex litigation.

Before joining Fremstad Law, Amber practiced for five years at a local firm, where she expanded her expertise in creditor’s rights, commercial litigation, and collections.

Amber is licensed to practice in North Dakota, Minnesota, Wyoming, the U.S. District Court District of North Dakota and the U.S. District Court District of Minnesota. She is a proud member of the North Dakota State Bar Association and the Cass County Bar Association.

Outside of the office, Amber enjoys traveling, spending time at the lakes, and cherishing moments with her two daughters, family, and friends.
